READ ALL OF THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY…
If you attend TCC and plan to audition for Marching Chiefs, you must apply for (and qualify for) Dual Enrollment status.
The normal deadline for Dual Enrollment for FSU will have passed by the time Marching Chiefs Pre-Season Training begins. TCC Marching Chiefs are an exception to this deadline, so please do not panic.
Here is the procedure…
1) Before arriving on the first day of Marching Chiefs pre-season training, download the FSU Thagard Student Health Center Student Health History Form, available as a PDF file by clicking here. (Returning TCC Dual Enrollment students who have filed a Health History Form in a previous year can skip to number 3.)
2) Fill in the required information and either mail or fax the form to the address listed at the top of the form. You may submit the form when you arrive in August, but it may delay your registration for the Marching Chiefs course as it takes 5 days to process.
3) When students arrive on the first day of Marching Chiefs registration (August 19 for Potential New Members; August 21 for Returning Members), they will fill out a TCC/FSU Dual Enrollment Form. Students will need to know their Social Security Numbers to fill out this form.
4) We will process the form for you during the Preseason Training Period, and if it is approved, we will register you for the course.
5) Approval will be confirmed BEFORE the audition results are posted on August 25. If you make the band, you MUST register for the Marching Chiefs course.
6) If your application is not approved, you may not complete the audition as you will not qualify for dual enrollment status. Approval is contingent on a minimum 2.0 grade point average at TCC and other factors. If you are unsure of your status, contact the registrar at TCC or FSU.
A $100 late registration fee will be applied to your tuition if not registered by the first day of FSU classes (August 29).
THIS PROCESS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. YOU MAY NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE MARCHING CHIEFS CLASS WITHOUT OFFICIALLY APPROVED DUAL ENROLLMENT STATUS.
DO NOT NEGLECT THIS IMPORTANT PROCEDURE.

NOTE TO FAMU STUDENTS: FAMU and FSU also have a dual enrollment agreement. The procedure is almost identical to the one above, except you must obtain an enrollment form from the FAMU Registrar’s office. Bring this form with you when you report to Preseason Training.

If you are living in University housing, you will be able to check into your hall on the evening of August 19.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT ALL INCOMING FRESHMAN ATTEND SUMMER ORIENTATION BEFORE THE START OF PRESEASON TRAINING.
Welcome Books will be mailed around July 1 to all potential new Chiefs in our current data base.
